Assistant Professor of Biology: Tenure Track

Description:

The oldest private military college in the nation seeks applicants with expertise in human anatomy, physiology, neurobiology and/or pathophysiology to teach courses in these areas, as well as an upper-level course in an area of the individual’s expertise, and additional courses as needed.

Qualifications:

An earned Ph.D. from an accredited university is preferred, ABD considered. Prior teaching experience at the college level, along with an interest in developing a research program in the individual’s field of expertise that encourages participation of undergraduate students is needed.

Nursing Faculty

Description:

Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., is seeking candidates for three full-time tenure-track nursing positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank to begin in the 2009-2010 academic year. Responsibilities include classroom and clinical teaching, professional and university service, and scholarly productivity. Specializations are in Medical Surgery, Gerontology and Community Health.

Qualifications:

A master’s degree in a clinical area of nursing and specialty clinical skills are required. The intention to enroll in doctoral education is also required for all applicants seeking a tenure-line position who don't already possess a terminal degree. An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field and a master’s degree in a clinical area of nursing, baccalaureate teaching experience in nursing and evidence of scholarly productivity are preferred. All candidates must be eligible for R.N. licensure in Vermont. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates should have interest in participating in a program anticipating growth.

Mathematics Faculty — Two Positions

Seeking dynamic faculty to engage undergraduates in the discovery of mathematics beginning fall 2009. Use of alternative delivery systems and technology is desirable. Evidence of quality teaching required. Two positions are available:

Director of Developmental Mathematics

Responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours per semester, developing and directing developmental mathematics course(s), providing general leadership and direction of the program, supervising and coordinating the Mathematics Placement Test and continued scholarship. Expertise in successful teaching methods and understanding of mathematics pedagogy is required, Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred, strong candidates with a master’s degree will be considered for appointment as a lecturer.

Open Specialty

Responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours per semester, student advising, service in the academic community and continued scholarship. Ph.D is required
